EcoCamp

Counselors-in-Training Program

Students entering 10th grade and higher

If you were in 9th-12th grade in Fall 2019 and are interested in helping campers explore outdoors and gaining valuable experience, the CIT program is for you! CITs will learn

communication and leadership skills, behavior management, environmental stewardship, and how to engage campers in the outdoors. CITs will also have the opportunity to handle live animals and help with animal care, and will be awarded service-learning hours for their assistance in connecting kids with nature. While CITs will work alongside our Junior Naturalists, the CIT program is geared towards nature and stewardship enthusiasts who are unable to commit to the year-round JN program.

There is no cost to participate in the CIT program, however participation is by selection. Those interested must complete the application and interview process. All who apply may not be selected. Being a CIT is an important leadership role and requires a two-week minimum commitment. There is a four-week maximum.

Hours: 9:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday-Friday

To apply: Send completed CIT Application Form to Sammi Ocher, Camp Director, at samara.ocher@audubon.org. See the application or EcoCamp website for dates and camp themes.

Application Deadline: May 30th, 2020. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

CITs must be available for training on Saturday, June 20th, from 9:00am – 4:00 pm
