Welcome to the Settlers Garden
This area is being transformed into a bird friendly garden. Student action to improve habitats has been an integral part of Pickering Creek’s Explore and Restore Habitat curriculum offered to Environmental Earth Students Caroline County Public Schools. As part of their experience, students have been helping transform our Settlers garden at Pickering Creek into a more bird friendly space during planting field trips for the past three semesters. Native plants installed last spring and fall by the students have been thriving and blooming especially in Pollinator Island, the large central garden bed. Take a tour of some of the plants here.
