Birding at Pickering Creek is always a unique experience. With a variety of habitats including mature forest, tidal and nontidal wetlands, and meadow , an incredible diversity of birds are able to call this place home for at least a portion of the year. In fact, over 200 species have been spotted at Pickering Creek, of which are waterfowl!
A day at Pickering Creek can introduce you to everything from Grasshopper sparrows to Barred owls, Pileated woodpeckers, and Bald eagles. Come into the office and we'll tell you the best viewing areas for these species.
Below you'll find a checklist of the birds of Pickering Creek. Hard copies, as well as bird field guides and binoculars, can be borrowed at the office.
